Management & Training Corporation is hiring at East Mississippi Correctional Facility in Meridian, MS to provide professional counseling to inmates, developing and implementing individual and group programs in compliance with ACA standards and MDOC directives.

The role reports to the case manager supervisor and focuses on PSD development, continuous counseling for educational, vocational and personal adjustment, and coordinating plans to improve inmate progress while ensuring safety and

Qualifications

• Associate degree in counseling or related field required.
• Bachelor's degree and 1 year related experience preferred.
• A valid Mississippi driver's license with acceptable driving record required, unless waived.

Responsibilities

• Review background files, interview and test inmates to tailor a program.
• Maintain PSD folders for each inmate.
• Provide direct counseling to inmates with personal needs.
• Deliver ongoing individual and group counseling for educational and social development.
• Recommend program modifications during each inmate's stay.
• Assist in developing plans, missions, objectives, schedules, policies within the facility.
• Make rounds to evaluate operations and communicate with staff and inmates.
• Conduct investigations involving incidents within units.
• Assist with pre-release and release preparation for contractual compliance.
• Coordinate progress evaluation and training to improve guidance and social adjustment.
