Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Case Analyst (NS) to work at Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton. The role requires evaluating offenders, compiling histories, and presenting recommendations to committees to inform classification and program needs.

Responsibilities include interviews, test interpretation, counseling referrals, and preparing pre-sentence diagnostic reports for court use. Strong knowledge of policies and custody procedures is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and one year of experience in testing or interviewing, and/or counseling; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience or knowledge of diagnostic processes and case management in corrections is preferred.
• Ability to interpret tests and provide meaningful recommendations to the committee.

Responsibilities

• Initial diagnostic evaluation and referral counseling for offenders.
• Compile socio-psychological histories and present reports with recommendations to committees.
• Consult with psychological personnel on test results and evaluations.
• Provide supportive counseling and act as a referral source for additional services.
• Conduct pre-sentence diagnostic reports ordered by the court.
