Job summary

Client Growth Resources, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own the income tax function, lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, and oversee return preparation with external preparers and internal staff.

You will coach a team of tax accountants, drive process improvements, manage notices, work with auditors, and collaborate with management on tax strategy across federal, state, local, and other tax areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a corporate environment.
• Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Sharp organizational and analytical skills, with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• A motivated, take-charge attitude.
• Plus: CPA, Master's in Taxation, or experience in manufacturing, retail, insurance, or mortgage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions
• Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities
• Work directly with internal and external auditors
• Research and deliver tax information requested by management and outside parties
• Support related areas as needed, including sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, and incentives
• Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics
