Job summary

RRC Solutions Group seeks a hands-on Tax Manager to own the income tax function, lead the tax provision process, and supervise return preparation with staff and external preparers. The role also involves coaching a team of tax accountants and driving process improvements across controls, risk, and service levels.

You will work with auditors, respond to tax notices, and support related areas such as sales, property, and payroll taxes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a corporate environment.
Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
Advanced Excel skills.
Sharp organizational and analytical skills, with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
A motivated, take-charge attitude.
Plus: CPA, Master’s in Taxation, or experience in manufacturing, retail, insurance, or mortgage.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities.
Work directly with internal and external auditors.
Research and deliver tax information requested by management and outside parties.
Support related areas as needed, including sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, and incentives.
Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics.
