Job summary

V&S Galvanizing, LLC is seeking a Corporate Safety Coordinator to lead safety initiatives from our Columbus, OH corporate office. You will train teams, audit compliance, investigate incidents, and collaborate with facility leadership to uphold safe operations across sites.

The role requires 40–60% travel to company locations and strong knowledge of OSHA/MSHA standards, plus experience with Evotix safety software and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing management, EHS, Engineering or related fields or equivalent experience.
• Technical knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, federal/state/local standards and 30- or 40-hour OSHA training.
• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to sites.
• Strong organizational skills with Microsoft Office (including Excel).
• Ability to travel to different sites, including unscheduled travel when needed.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate new safety initiatives and training programs.

• Partner with facility leadership to ensure safe, compliant operations across locations.

V&S Galvanizing, LLC has over 100 years of experience in Hot Dip Galvanizing and we are the leader in the steel coating industry. Today we operate over 9 galvanizing plants in the U.S., featuring exceptional service to small fabricators as well as companies known worldwide.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an outstanding individual to fulfill the role of Corporate Safety Coordinator. This is a full-time position based out of our corporate office in Columbus, OH.

The Corporate Safety Coordinator supports the organization's safety culture by conducting training, auditing compliance programs, investigating incidents, and partnering with facility leadership to ensure safe and compliant operations across all locations.

Corporate Safety Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Facilitate new initiatives/training programs when introduced.
• Conduct Forklift, Crane, and MEWP training as required.
• Conduct site safety audits and report results.
• Verify maintenance logs are complete and notify plant management if logs are incomplete. Follow up for effectiveness.
• Verify equipment pre-op checks are complete including forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, cranes, and any other equipment that requires the checks (including rented equipment).
• Verify that all equipment operators are licensed.
• Assist with updating facility safety policies and procedures.
• Attend safety committee meetings at facilities when feasible.
• Attend Corporate Safety Committee meetings.
• Conduct site inspections and enter findings in Evotix.
• Monitor and verify Evotix resolutions for effectiveness.
• Monitor and maintain a safe working environment.
• Conduct surprise PPE checks when visiting sites.
• Reports directly to the Senior EHS Manager.
• Investigate all facility incidents, identify the root cause and create corrective actions current with company safety standards and report findings to the Corporate Safety Committee.
• Report findings and recommendations/resolutions to each EHS team member via email after each site visit.
• This position requires frequent travel (approximately 40-60%) to company locations.

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing management, EHS, Engineering or equivalent related fields and/or equivalent experience.
• Technical knowledge of manufacturing and construction related OSHA, MSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, 30- or 40-hour OSHA Training
• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality with company and client information
• A valid driver's license
• Strong organizational skills to include Microsoft office, excel and equivalent programs
• Ability to travel to different sites, to include unscheduled travel when needed
