Job summary

V&S Galvanizing in New Castle, Delaware, is seeking a Production Manager to oversee all manufacturing and shipping activities. This hands-on leadership role requires driving safety culture and working alongside production teams to achieve objectives.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, familiarity with steel coatings or related industries, and knowledge of scheduling, ISO 9001, and health and safety regulations. Strong communication and team development skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of management or supervisory experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of the steel industry or protective industrial coatings a plus.
• Production scheduling experience.
• Familiarity with AISC and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Experience in manufacturing, operations, process design, systems, and quality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
• Strong execution, results orientation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated with a desire to continually improve skills and knowledge.
• Excellent communication and supervisory skills.

V&S Galvanizing, and we are the leader in the steel coating industry. Today we operate over 9 galvanizing plants in the U.S., featuring exceptional service to small fabricators as well as companies known worldwide.

We are currently searching for an outstanding individual to fill our Production Manager position at our V&S Delaware Galvanizing facility.This is a full-time position located at our growing New Castle, Delaware facility. T

he Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing and shipping of the plant while promoting a culture of safety. This is a hands-on leadership role that works primarily on the plant floor alongside production teams, providing daily support, guidance, and oversight to drive operational success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive a culture of safety.
• Responsible for production, maintenance, quality, shipping & receiving.
• Coordinates plant schedules through planning to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
• Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste.
• Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage.
• Ensure that plant operates safely and in compliance with all company and federal/state codes and regulations.
• Recruit, train, and onboard new employees.
• Evaluate employees and give suggestions for improvement.
• Limited travel required.
• Other duties as directed by General Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Management/Supervisory: 2 years (Preferred)
• Knowledge of the steel industry or protective industrial coatings a PLUS
• Production Scheduling
• Previous understanding of AISC and ISO 9001 quality standard.
• Knowledge of current health and safety regulations.
• Previous knowledge in manufacturing, operations, process design, systems, and quality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
• Relentless determination and courage to make things happen; strong execution skills; results oriented.
• Self-motivated, desire to improve one's knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis
• Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record for insurability.
