Job summary

Related Midwest, the Chicago office of Related Companies, seeks an experienced paralegal to support corporate governance and transactional matters. The role will handle real estate transactions, document preparation, and closing coordination while partnering with internal teams and outside counsel in Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of paralegal experience supporting corporate and transactional matters.
• Experience supporting corporate and transactional matters; real estate experience is strongly preferred.
• Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Corporate Services Company (CSC) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the legal team in corporate governance, real estate transactions, and other legal matters and special projects.
• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and editing legal documents, including transaction documents, NDAs, license agreements and other contracts.
• Coordinate closing processes for corporate/real estate transactions, including good standing certificates and lien searches.
• Monitor transaction timelines and closing checklists to ensure timely completion.
• Prepare organizational documents such as formation documents, operating agreements, resolutions, and officer/incumbency certificates.
• Maintain legal department files, templates, databases, and transaction documents.
• Collaborate with outside counsel, internal business teams, and stakeholders.
