Job description

The TRG Manufacturing Search Division seeks a Corporate Project Engineer to join a stable, recession-resistant, growth-oriented company that plays an important role in the industrial sustainability value chain.

The company takes secondary material streams that would otherwise become waste and transforms them into valuable products used in agriculture, animal nutrition, renewable fuels, and industrial markets.

This is an opportunity for an engineer who wants to own capital projects from concept and design through installation and startup, rather than spending every day behind a desk.

You will support more than 50 facilities nationwide, leading capital projects ranging from $250K equipment improvements to $10M+ plant expansions.

Projects can involve:

  • Screw conveyors and material handling systems
  • Large grinders and presses
  • Pumps, valves, tanks, and piping systems
  • Heat exchangers and steam systems
  • Scrubbers, ductwork, and air handling equipment
  • Cookers and other large process equipment
  • Structural steel, concrete, and equipment foundations

You will develop project scope, budgets, schedules, P&IDs, PFDs, equipment specifications, and heat and mass balances while working closely with operations, controls, electrical, CAD/design, construction teams, contractors, and equipment vendors.

This is hands-on industrial engineering. We are looking for someone who is comfortable getting out of the office and onto the plant floor. These are active processing facilities where conditions can be hot, noisy, dirty, and occasionally unpleasant. The right engineer will appreciate being close to the equipment and seeing their projects come to life.

Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Capital project, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or process engineering experience
  • Experience with industrial equipment, piping, mechanical systems, or equipment installation
  • Strong project management, communication, and documentation skills
  • AutoCAD and 3D CAD experience; Inventor is a plus
  • P&IDs, PFDs, heat and mass balances, or structural design experience are valuable
  • Comfortable with approximately 20-30% travel

If you enjoy building things, solving problems in the field, and seeing a project go from an idea on paper to operating equipment, this is the type of engineering role where you can see the impact of your work.
