Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join our corporate practice, with 3-6 years' experience advising clients on corporate insurance matters, including placements and claim management for Directors & Officers insurance, representations & warranties insurance, cyberliability, and other lines of insurance.

We primarily seek to fill this position in our Palo Alto, San Francisco, or New York offices, although strong candidates for other U.S.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state where the office is located.
• 3+ years of experience at a AmLaw 100 firm or equivalent.
• Experience with corporate insurance matters considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case/transaction strategy.
• Draft well-written, error-free legal documents including briefs, contracts, and correspondence.
• Assist/manage complex cases/transactions from inception to resolution through closings and negotiations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to develop innovative strategies.
• Attend hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trials as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and firm policies.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance skills and leadership.
