Job summary

Weastec, Inc. seeks a Corporate Governance Generalist to oversee sustainability requirements and ensure in-house compliance. You will support multiple departments on governance projects and assist in preparing ESG reporting.

The role involves contributing to CSR initiatives, coordinating diversity and human rights policies, and participating in governance and trade compliance efforts. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant governance or compliance exposure preferred.
  • 1–2 years of related experience or internship in governance, compliance, or CSR.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and department-specific databases; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CSR policies and long-term environmental, diversity, and social governance plans.
  • Gain knowledge of governance areas including ethics, health & safety, and trade compliance.
  • Assist with internal audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with departments to document customer requirements and implement them into policies.
  • Publish ESG reports and track community involvement metrics.
  • Support governance committees and prepare updates for management meetings.
  • Create annual charitable donation budgets and manage related requests.
  • Provide updates to executive management and administrative divisions.
  • Produce internal conservation updates and post monthly on company channels.
  • Serve as social media administrator and monitor Weastec pages.

About the Company

Weastec, Inc. was founded in 1988 as a subsidiary of Toyodenso Co. Ltd., a global leader electrical switches, electronics and sensors. Weastec supplies these products to the North American Automotive, Powersports and Power Equipment markets.
The Hillsboro headquarters, a production facility in scenic southwestern Ohio, is conveniently located to deliver product directly to major OEMs such as Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen. Weastec prides itself on superior quality and world-class supply chain management, both of which are managed from the Hillsboro facility.
In 2005, the Weastec Technical Center was established in the Columbus, Ohio suburb of Dublin. The technical center is responsible for design, development and testing of new products and is the customer liaison throughout the new product creation cycle.
In 2022, Weastec reopened the Greenfield operations facility and began the introduction of automated assembly lines. This location also serves as additional warehouse space for the Hillsboro headquarters.

Job Summary

Oversee customer sustainability requirements and verify in-house compliance. Be a support role to otherdepartments for various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop CSR policies and long-term planning, coordinating environmental aspects in order to meet customer requirements, coordination of diversity programs (supplier & associate), coordination of human rights policies to align with the requirements of our customers.
  • Gain knowledge of all aspects of governance as part of succession planning. These include compliance & ethics, diversity, environment, governance, health & safety, social responsibility, charitable giving, community service, and trade compliance.
  • Associate will also be trained to conduct internal audit to ensure compliance with company and industry systems.
  • Goals for this position are mainly derived from customers requirements, which are generally updated ona yearly basis or deadlines are provided for. A variety of projects are created based off of these updatedrequirements. Most projects have the opportunity for intellectual and creative freedom as there are manyways to create the end result.
  • Partner with other departments to outline customers' requirements and implement the requirements intointernal practices and policies. Meet with a group, discuss the requirements, incorporate them as needed,and check to verify everything is accounted for and revisions are made.
  • Compile data and publish the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report. This includes anyinitiatives that assist in growing the company image and demonstrates leadership in the community.
  • Participate in monthly meetings (some more frequent) of various committees - CO2 Reduction, BusinessContinuity Plan, Biodiversity, Compliance Database, Paper Reduction, Trade Compliance, Diversity, andoversee Community Involvement Committee. Contribute to the conversations, investigate any unknowns,and help track metrics.
  • Create a yearly budget for the charitable donations and request those donations at the appropriate time.Research any additional opportunities for charitable donations and serve as main contact for donationrequests.
  • Provide executive management and the Administration Division with important updates on the CorporateGovernance Department. These updates occur at the weekly Division and Departmental meetings, themonthly goal revision meetings, and the information is input into the monthly reports.
  • Informational slides pertaining to Conservation news updates are created on Canva and sharedinternally to all Weastec associates. Monthly Conservation News updates are created and posted to the
    Weastec website and linked on the monthly Sustainable Synergy newsletter.
  • Serve as the social media administrator and track the monthly usage of the Weastec media pages andcompany website.
Required Qualifications
