Akerman LLP seeks an associate with 3 to 5 years of transactional franchise experience. The role supports a growing national franchise practice and entails work on FDDs, franchise agreements, registrations, termination issues, and related regulatory matters.

Experience with M&A in the franchise space and international licensing is a plus. The position can be based in any Akerman office with remote/flexible work arrangements available; Juris Doctor and bar admission in the resident jurisdiction

• Juris Doctor (ABA-accredited) and bar admission or eligibility in resident office jurisdiction.
• Experience with franchise regulatory matters including FDDs, agreements, registrations and termination issues.
• Strong research, writing and analytical abilities required.

Akerman LLP seeks an associate with 3 to 5 years of transactional franchise experience. This is an opportunity to join an expanding national franchise practice that values collegiality. The ideal candidate must have a desire to learn and grow in serving the franchise community, and experience with FDDs, franchise agreements, franchise registrations, default and termination issues, and miscellaneous franchise regulatory, relationship, and compliance matters. Experience with mergers and acquisitions in the franchise space, international franchise licensing transactions, and dispute resolution would be a plus. Excellent legal research, writing and analytical skills are required. The position can be based in any of the firm's offices (remote/flexible work arrangement are available). Qualified candidates must have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly) in the jurisdiction of resident office location.
