As we enter an accelerated phase of growth and operational transformation, we are seeking an exceptional Corporate Financial Controller to supercharge, scale, and help architect our accounting organization.

About the Role

We are hiring a Corporate Financial Controller at the parent-company level to lead and own the accounting function, financial reporting, consolidation, technical accounting, and internal control environment across every NJA entity.

This is a high-impact, multi-entity leadership role. You will own the close, consolidation, and control environment across the tax and advisory practices, wealth management, transaction advisory, and investment management platform—each with its own economics, entity structure, and reporting requirements.

This is also a transformation and build opportunity. You will lead the ERP implementation that replaces the firm's current accounting stack and establish the accounting infrastructure, reporting discipline, and control environment necessary to support audited financial statements, continued expansion and acquisitions.

You are not inheriting a finished department, and you are expected to help build a scalable, best-in-class accounting organization capable of supporting NJA's next stage of growth. The role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is on-site in Sunrise, Florida.

Close, Consolidation & Reporting
  • Own and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all NJA entities, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations, consolidation, and preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Establish and drive a disciplined close calendar, materially reducing close-cycle time while improving accuracy, accountability, and timely financial visibility for executive leadership.
  • Produce consolidated and entity-level P&L, balance sheet, and cash-flow reporting, including variance analysis, management reporting, practice-level and service-line profitability.
  • Own technical accounting positions, including revenue recognition, equity and compensation accounting, acquisitions, business combinations, and fund consolidation in accordance with U.S. GAAP, as applicable to the enterprise.
  • Establish accounting policies, procedures, documentation standards, reconciliations, and reporting protocols across the enterprise.
Controls and Audit
  • Design, implement, and document the internal control environment, accounting policies, chart of accounts, and financial governance framework with the rigor and scalability expected of a sophisticated institutional corporate environment.
  • Manage the external audit end-to-end, serving as the primary accounting liaison with external auditors, while overseeing tax compliance and financial reporting requirements for banks, lenders, insurers, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead SOX readiness initiatives and the development and implementation of robust accounting processes, internal controls, documentation, and financial reporting capabilities to support the firm’s long-term strategic objectives.
  • Identify control deficiencies and accounting risks and establish remediation plans with clear ownership and timelines.
ERP & Finance Transformation
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, design, and end-to-end implementation of the firm’s ERP, including chart-of-accounts architecture, entity and consolidation structure, data conversion, testing, controls, training, and cutover.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, HR, Operations, and business leaders to integrate practice management, billing, payroll, CRM, and other critical platforms into the accounting and reporting environment.
  • Identify and eliminate unnecessary manual processes through standardization, automation, and disciplined financial workflows capable of supporting rapid growth, acquisitions, new entities, and additional business lines.
  • Establish data integrity, system governance, access controls, and reporting standards across the finance technology ecosystem.
Team & Business Partnership
  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting organization spanning general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and billing.
  • Establish clear organizational structure, roles, accountability, performance expectations, and succession capability within the accounting function.
  • Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, working-capital management, strategic financial initiatives, and capital structure.
  • Work directly with the founder, executive leadership, and practice heads to translate financial information into actionable business insights and drive financial accountability across the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant leadership responsibility within a complex, multi-entity organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual close, consolidation, financial reporting, and technical accounting under U.S. GAAP.
  • Deep experience with multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, financial controls, and complex organizational structures.
  • Hands-on leadership of at least one major ERP implementation or finance-system transformation, including design, data conversion, testing, controls, and go-live.
  • Demonstrated experience building or significantly scaling an accounting function during rapid organizational growth, acquisition, or transformation.
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with CFOs, CEOs/founders, auditors, business leaders, and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Public-company accounting, SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
  • Experience within a large accounting firm, professional service organization, wealth-management business, investment platform, or similarly complex financial services environment.
  • Experience supporting organizations with $250 million+ in annual revenue.
  • M&A integration, acquisition accounting, investment partnership, or fund-accounting experience.
  • Experience building accounting infrastructure across multiple legal entities, business lines, and/or geographic locations.
What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
  • Establish a disciplined, predictable, and increasingly accelerated monthly close.
  • Deliver timely, accurate consolidated financial reporting across all NJA entities.
  • Complete a comprehensive assessment and strengthening of accounting policies, controls, and financial governance.
  • Build a documented roadmap toward SOX compliance.
  • Successfully advance or complete the selection and implementation of the firm’s next-generation ERP environment, consistent with the approved scope and timeline.
  • Reduce manual accounting processes through standardization and automation.
  • Build a scalable accounting organizational structure with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Provide the CFO and executive leadership with improved visibility into financial performance, cash flow, profitability, and financial risk.
Leadership Profile

The successful candidate will be:

  • A builder who enjoys creating structure rather than inheriting it.
  • A hands-on leader willing to operate at both strategic and detailed levels.
  • Highly accountable, decisive, and comfortable in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
  • Intellectually rigorous with exceptional attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and constructively influencing senior leaders.
  • Able to balance speed, controls, scalability, and business practicality.
  • An exceptional communicator who translates complex accounting matters into clear business implications.

At Neil Jesani Advisors, exceptional talent earns exceptional rewards. We provide superior compensation, executive-level resources, and a high-autonomy workplace.

  • 401(k) Plan: Company match up to 5%.
  • Health Coverage: Premium medical, dental, and vision insurance packages.
  • Paid Time Off: 15 PTO days plus 10 paid major public holidays and supplemental firm holidays.
  • Work Environment: A collaborative, intellectually curious environment that values both high productivity and professional well-being.
