Citizens Bank offers a Finance & Accounting internship in Johnston, RI, beginning June 1, 2027. The program places you in either Business Unit Finance or Corporate Accounting and focuses on improving reporting, analysis, and accounting knowledge.

You'll support daily close activities, conduct detailed analyses, and collaborate on a capstone project to present to senior Finance leaders. A hybrid work model is provided to balance on-site and remote work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
• Minimum GPA 3.5 is required
• Strong Excel proficiency and MS Office skills
• Excellent written and oral presentation abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for daily/monthly/quarterly reporting processes
• Deliver detailed analyses of critical areas and reporting
• Participate in a capstone project and present findings to senior Finance leaders
• Assist in consolidation, management reporting, and month-end close activities

Citizens internship programs give you the chance to work on a variety of critical business assignments that will test your skills and use your academic knowledge to match your interests to a real job.

As a Finance or Accounting Intern you will have the opportunity to participate in finance activities while improving your reporting and analysis skills as well as enhancing your knowledge of basic finance and accounting principles.You will be placed in one of the following accounting-related areas for the summer: Business Unit Finance (Consumer, Commercial, Enterprise),or Corporate Accounting.

NOTE: THIS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM BEGINS June 1, 2027 and is based in Johnston, RI

As a Finance & Accounting intern you can expect to:

• Provide analytical support for the daily/ monthly / quarterly reporting process.
• Provide detailed analysis of critical areas including research and reporting
• Participate in a final capstone project, collaborating with peers to solve a real business challenge and present findings to senior Finance leaders
• Assist in recurring management reporting preparation, consolidation, and analysis for review with senior management. Participate in month-end close/ forecast preparation and related control functions.
• Ad hoc and additional assignments across various divisions and finance teams.

Qualifications:

• Fully proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly excel.
• Strong written and oral presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Education:
