Job summary

Overview

Responsibilities
  • Align with and actively support Amcor values by putting safety first in all situations, serving as a role model and ensuring all project work follows safety policies.
  • Identify customer needs by recognizing problems and safety concerns, develop and evaluate solutions, and define project scope.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and assemble engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project based on direction from manager.
  • Interface with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure equipment is safe, scheduled, and to specification.
  • Provide purchasing services for project materials: review vendors, contact vendors, coordinate with Purchasing, issue purchase orders, negotiate prices, and expedite delivery.
  • Manage project costs and scheduling, and communicate pertinent data to appropriate areas.
  • Complete project closeout and post‑mortem analysis.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement/kaizen teams and lead teams as requested.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry practices applicable to Amcor products and equipment.
  • Assist with installation, checkout, start‑up, and training as necessary.
  • Controls: create, plan, and program HMI, SCADA, and PLC equipment; test and validate machine instrumentation; foster integration and development of IT resources related to engineering functions.
  • Electrical: design and plan electrical machine systems; perform engineering calculations; test and validate designs; create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
  • Automation: investigate and concept new automation solutions, develop test plans, set requirements for FATs and SATs, test and validate solutions, and review technical drawings and proposals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, CS&E, Controls/Automation Engineering or a related technical field).
  • Three to six years of engineering experience.
  • 30% travel requirement.
