Job summary

Amcor is seeking an experienced engineer in Appleton, WI, to lead complex engineering projects without direct reports. Job Description

Positions in the third working level of the engineering series. Incumbents routinely lead complex engineering projects and this role has no direct reports.

    • Coordinates and prepares the engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project, including designs, calculations, layouts, schematics, manuals, bid specs, etc.
    • Establishes the Project Team, facilitates and documents Project team meetings.

    • Interfaces with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure that equipment is safe, on schedule, and to specification.
    • Provides purchasing services for project materials, including reviewing potential vendors, coordinating with Purchasing, issuing purchase orders, negotiating prices, and expediting delivery.
    • Assists in the interview process for candidates to fill openings within the department.
    • Communicates all appropriate information in a timely and effective manner to necessary stakeholders inside and outside the organization.
  • Accountability
    • Manages project costs, scheduling, and pertinent communications for multiple highly complex, wide‑ranging engineering projects, which may vary in scope and responsibilities.
    • Completes Project Closeout and Post‑mortem Analysis for appropriate projects.
  • Results and Outperformance
    • Actively participates on continuous improvement/Kaizen teams and leads teams as requested.
    • Leads efforts to secure and maintain knowledge of current industry practices applicable to Amcor products and equipment.
    • Leads mid‑to‑large‑scale project installations, checkout, start‑up, and training as necessary.
    • Identifies potential areas of improvement for the department and develops proposals for action plans.
