The Electrical Technician position is a mid-level role responsible for acting in a safe manner, while leading electrical projects, assisting with project management and providing technical/electrical support and repairs to machinery found in the production areas and the equipment within the building and systems.

The Electrical Technician position is a mid-level role responsible for acting in a safe manner, while leading electrical projects, assisting with project management and providing technical/electrical support and repairs to the various machinery found in the production areas and the equipment that is found within the building and systems.
General Responsibilities
- Follow all Amcor safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Follow OSHA rules and regulations
- Monitor quality of product; inspect bottles for defects, inspect boxes for damage and properly follow customer pack patterns
- Communicate and cooperate with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the goals of the department and the plant
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines; wear protective clothing, long-sleeved shirt, jeans or slacks, hair net, latex gloves and practice good hygiene
- Willing and able to work overtime when needed
- Identify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
- Effectively respond in an emergency situation such as fire or accident and direct the activities of others
- Follow all department procedures and directives
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with building and programming on new and rebuilt equipment
- Follow mechanical and electrical prints
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment
- Apply progressive Continuous Improvement practices such as 6S, etc.
- Increase customer satisfaction by assisting production to reduce cost and lead-time while improving quality and service
- Provide support and guidance for Quality to develop procedures and work instructions for Corrective and Preventive Actions
- Develop training resources to train and motivate employees in the use and implementation of electrical troubleshooting principles
- Understand all electrical principles, blueprints, AC and DC motor controls, VFDs and troubleshoot electrical problems down to component level to make necessary repairs
- Provide timely repairs, upkeep and preventative maintenance
- Ensure adequate repair parts are stocked
- Use MRO system for removing and returning parts from inventory
- Make recommendations for equipment improvements
- Assist with set-ups, start-ups, and quality qualifications
- Strive for continuous improvement of equipment
- Set an example for housekeeping and safety standards
- Ensure scheduled PMs are performed and recorded per the Service Work Order
- Enter all Work Order Requests into the automated tracking system
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping and reporting of Work Order information
- Troubleshoot molding processes, make adjustments to the machine and auxiliary equipment to produce quality parts
- Troubleshoot auxiliary equipment and ensure all equipment functions properly to produce quality parts
- Visually inspect work areas and equipment safety guards, monitor employees’ safety, and help eliminate safety hazards
- Reduce waste and drive best practices across the organization
- All other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance involving mechanical systems
- 1+ years of experience participating in Continuous Improvement projects
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Must be able to monitor the quality of machine output
- Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds
- Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms
- Must be able to follow all department procedures and directives
- Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner
Preferred Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective presentation methods and skills
- Ability to think resourcefully and strategically
