Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong M&A transaction experience within corporate development, private equity or investment banking.
  • Ability to independently manage transactions from start to finish.
  • Experience in Business Services, Facilities Management or related sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial judgement with excellent financial and valuation skills.
  • Proven ability to operate in a lean team with high responsibility.
  • Relationship-driven approach with credibility with management teams, advisers and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive audiences.
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to be based on the East Coast with travel across North America.

Responsibilities

  • Lead M&A transactions from initial evaluation through signing and closing, managing all deal phases.
  • Conduct detailed financial, strategic and commercial analyses to assess acquisition opportunities.
  • Coordinate due diligence with external advisers, including banks, consultants and legal counsel.
  • Prepare investment materials, valuation analyses and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with target companies, owners and industry participants.
  • Support negotiation of transaction structures and key terms.
  • Work with business leaders to evaluate strategic growth opportunities across sectors.
  • Contribute to acquisition pipeline development and market mapping initiatives.
  • Assess synergies, risks and value creation opportunities associated with transactions.
  • Support integration planning and post-acquisition strategic initiatives where required.
  • Manage multiple live transactions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Play a key role as the organisation evaluates larger and more complex opportunities.

We are partnering with a leading global business services company to appoint a Corporate Development (M&A) Lead at an exciting point in its growth journey. With a significant acquisition budget, a highly active deal pipeline and a clear ambition to expand into larger and more complex transactions, this is a unique opportunity to join a lean, high-performing team where M&A sits firmly at the centre of the growth strategy.

The business completes dozens of acquisitions each year across North America and is continuing to invest heavily in both existing and new service markets. Having successfully built out the wider team, the organisation is now looking for an experienced deal professional who can step into a leadership role and take ownership of transactions from day one.

The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating, executing and managing acquisitions across a broad range of business services sectors. This is a highly visible position offering significant exposure to senior executives, strategic decision-making and a growing portfolio of larger-scale opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading M&A transactions from initial evaluation through to signing and closing, managing all phases of the deal process
  • Conducting detailed financial, strategic and commercial analysis to assess acquisition opportunities
  • Coordinating due diligence workstreams and managing external advisers, including investment banks, consultants and legal counsel
  • Preparing investment materials, valuation analyses and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Building and maintaining relationships with target companies, owners and industry participants
  • Supporting negotiation of transaction structures, commercial terms and key deal documentation
  • Working closely with business leaders to evaluate strategic growth opportunities across multiple sectors
  • Contributing to acquisition pipeline development and market mapping initiatives
  • Assessing potential synergies, risks and value creation opportunities associated with transactions
  • Supporting integration planning and post-acquisition strategic initiatives where required
  • Managing multiple live transactions simultaneously within a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Playing a key role as the organisation continues to evaluate larger and more complex acquisition opportunities
The Ideal Candidate
  • Strong M&A transaction experience gained within corporate development, private equity or investment banking
  • Demonstrable deal execution experience with the ability to independently manage transactions
  • Experience within Business Services, Facilities Management, Support Services or related sectors is highly desirable
  • Strong commercial judgement combined with excellent financial and valuation skills
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a lean team environment with high levels of responsibility
  • Relationship-driven approach with the ability to build credibility with management teams, advisers and senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience preparing materials for executive audiences
  • Highly organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to be based on the East Coast, with flexibility to travel across North America as required
