Fullsteam is a vertical software and payments company based in New York, Atlanta, and Auburn, AL. We have acquired 90 software companies since 2018 and continue to make +10 acquisitions per year. We are a growth-focused acquirer across many different verticals. We help our companies increase their growth rate through the adoption of integrated payments processing and other ancillary products as well as provide additional resources for sales, marketing, and product development.

Associates work closely with the rest of the deal team to source, evaluate, and complete acquisitions of vertical software companies under $200m of enterprise value. The role in-person at the New York office in SoHo, and travel expected at least once per month to meet companies or attend conferences. This role is a hybrid of a private equity associate and corporate development on a small and entrepreneurial team. We constantly adapt and improve processes as we continue to grow our platform and acquisition/operational strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Take deals from initial source, to LOI signing, and working directly with counsel to negotiate legal documents and close
  • Identify strategies for acquired companies to benefit from the Fullsteam platform
  • Find and get a hold of great vertical software businesses in the US & Canada across a wide range of industries
  • Develop close relationships with CEOs, investment bankers, and industry veterans to connect with target companies
  • Travel monthly, sometimes with other members of the M&A team, to represent Fullsteam at meetings with CEOs and attend trade shows
  • Complete diligence workstreams including customer metrics analysis, modeling/budgeting, and industry research
  • Develop an understanding and become fluent in contract and purchase agreement terms and negotiation
  • Create presentation materials for pitches and acquisition approvals

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that will be tested and refined every day while interacting with CEOs
  • 1 – 4 years of experience with either software company analysis, sourcing, or investing in corporate development, banking, private equity, consulting, or growth equity
  • Understands and is curious about software, technology, and AI
  • Tenacious, energetic, and outgoing personality
  • Ability to adhere to process and help the team continuously improve it over time
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent experience. MBA a plus.
