Job summary

Philo is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our Brooklyn, NY team, focusing on content acquisition and business development. You will negotiate and draft licenses, platform and production agreements, vendor MSAs, SOWs and IOs, while helping expand Philo’s content and distribution strategy.

The role emphasizes practical, business-minded legal support, with a small, high-impact in-house team and opportunities to shape legal playbooks and templates for faster deal execution.

Qualifications

5–10 years of legal experience, including hands-on experience with television licensing (network affiliation, FAST)

Responsibilities

Negotiate and draft content license agreements, platform deals, production agreements, vendor MSAs and SOWs and IOs
Support content acquisition and business development teams and drive deals to close
Develop legal playbooks, templates and best practices to improve team efficiency
Provide practical, business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced media environment
Operate with autonomy and make impactful contributions from day one
