Position Overview:

OP Labs seeks a highly motivated attorney to serve as Corporate Counsel, reporting to the General Counsel. This role will drive the company's commercial and corporate legal functions, managing relationships with the business development and partnerships teams, and supporting general legal matters such as HR, IP, and regulatory issues.

What are the role responsibilities?

1. Provide practical commercial support to business development and partnership teams, including working on complex agreements and creating templates for repeat agreements.
2. Offer timely and practical legal advice to internal partners on various matters, focusing on commercial and corporate law.
3. Assist the People team with hiring, employment, and non-cash compensation issues.
4. Manage the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, and licensing matters.
5. Proactively identify potential issues and creatively solve problems related to transactional and product development.
6. Act as a business partner, not just an attorney.

What skills do you bring?

• Licensed to practice law in a U.S. state or an international jurisdiction, with a JD or equivalent, and at least three years of relevant transactional experience at a law firm or in-house.
• Experience in structuring complex transactions and negotiating commercial agreements with strategic partners.
• Excellent judgment, analytical skills, and business pragmatism.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Experience in startups or technology companies, either as a client or in-house.
