Job summary

Motive Companies, LLC is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead the accounting function across multiple business units. This role manages the monthly close, consolidation, and reporting to executives, lenders, and the PE sponsor, while integrating newly acquired businesses and building scalable back-office processes.

The ideal candidate is hands-on with multi-entity experience, able to drive GAAP compliance, revenue recognition, and KPI reporting, and will oversee a growing team in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3-5 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Significant multi-entity consolidation experience (10+ entities).
• Strong intercompany accounting and eliminations.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 805.
• Experience managing external audits and internal controls.
• Proven leadership of accounting teams, including remote workers.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with cloud-based ERP/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close for all units within 7–10 business days.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements with intercompany eliminations and allocations.
• Standardize chart of accounts, close calendar, checklists, and reconciliations.
• Oversee AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, and journal reviews.
• Deliver monthly reporting to leadership, investors, and lenders.
• Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606 and WIP schedules.
• Lead M&A diligence and integration accounting.
• Develop scalable internal controls and policies.
