Job summary

Altimate Medical Holdings, Inc. seeks a Controller to lead and transform our accounting and finance functions.

You will oversee GAAP-compliant reporting, tax, treasury, and audit activities while guiding a high-performing team in a manufacturing environment. You will partner with the CFO to align financial strategy with operational goals, manage multi-state tax compliance, and drive continuous control improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA highly desirable; MBA preferred.
  • Experience leading finance teams in manufacturing; 10+ years accounting/finance; 5+ years in manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close in NetSuite, reconcile GL accounts, and prepare schedules.
  • Consolidate financial statements across business units and systems.
  • Act as strategic partner to CFO and lead accounting functions including journal entries.
  • Serve as principal cost accountant ensuring accurate product costing.
  • Ensure internal controls and GAAP compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Supervise accounting team and foster high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with CFO to align financial strategy with business goals.
  • Manage state registrations, annual reports, sales/use tax, 1099s and related compliance.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial statements and tax information.
  • Lead budgeting and five-year forecast processes; analyze variances.
  • Assist with revenue forecasting and P&L for new offerings with pricing analysis.
  • Support HR/payroll reporting and audits; oversee insurance and benefits renewals.
  • Oversee cash management and bank reconciliations.
  • Lead accounting for acquisitions and purchase accounting.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting, treasury, audit and tax, and reporting activities. The Controller will have a proven track record of success serving as a strategic partner to the CFO and member of the finance team. The fully qualified candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; an MBA and/or CPA is highly desirable. This individual should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible finance leadership roles in a manufacturing environment and a minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including project accounting, revenue recognition, staff management, and multi-state tax environment. Qualified candidates will have experience coordinating audit activities, managing reporting, purchase accounting, performing budget to actual analysis, and forecasting. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements. Experience in manufacturing and/or NetSuite is a definite advantage. An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA is highly desirable. The successful candidate must have excellent business acumen and financial aptitude with strong communication skills and the ability to think strategically. Additionally, this individual must have the capacity to collaborate with AltimateMedical and Granite Partners leaders, taking advantage of resources throughout the organization and becoming an integral part of the team.

Major Elements Of The Controller’s Responsibilities Include
  • Lead month-end financial close in NetSuite, including preparing entries, reconciling all general ledger accounts, and preparing monthly account analysis schedules.
  • Manage the consolidation of financial statements across multiple business units, entities and systems.
  • Monitor financial accounts for anomalies, variances, and trends and prepare financial reports in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with GAAP; providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the CFO by serving as the company’s lead accountant performing and overseeing accounting functions, including preparing and posting journal entries for all general ledger accounts (cash, inventory, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and distribution, benefits, accrued liabilities, fixed assets., commissions, allocations).
  • Serve as the principal cost accountant, ensuring product costing methodologies and processes produce accurate and reliable item costs.
  • Work with the CFO to ensure that effective internal controls are in place and to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. Ensure timely tax compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting team, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and development. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting team.
  • Collaborate closely with the CFO to align the financial strategy with the overall business objectives and operational goals.
  • Manage the various registrations and annual requirements for states in which the company currently conducts business as well as future states, and the federal government. This includes filing annual reports, sales and use tax, unclaimed property, business licenses, payroll related withholdings not completed by payroll provider, year-end tax statements including 1099s as well as assisting the CFO in registering for additional city/state requirements that are required by RFPs and/or purchasing contracts.
  • Lead the process with the company’s independent external auditors in the completion of the annual financial audit and providing information required for tax purposes, including state apportionment information.
  • Make continuous improvements to internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Provide key inputs and prepare schedules in support of the annual budgeting and five-year forecast planning process with guidance from the CFO; compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, communicate, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Partner with various departments to streamline revenue forecasts and assist with P&L creation for business cases for new and/or updated offerings to ensure pricing excellence. This includes working closely with the Pricing Analyst and others to ensure NetSuite is set up correctly to ensure cost reporting.
  • Support HR and payroll personnel with reporting and audit obligations, including 401(k) and workers compensation audits.
  • Lead the accounting team with annual business insurance and benefit renewals by completing applications, and other schedules, and responding to information requests.
  • Oversee all aspects of the company’s cash management activities, including initiating and approving bank transactions, posting transactions to NetSuite, and timely reconciliation of the company’s bank accounts.
  • Lead accounting activities for purchase accounting and financial integration of acquisitions.
LOCATION

The Controller is a hybrid position with preference to candidates located in southwest MN including Mankato or Twin Cities metro areas and will include approximately four to six days per month at the home office in Morton, Minnesota along with time spent occasionally at facilities in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, Lenexa, Kansas and Frankfort, Illinois.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (CPA required; MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 5+ years in a manufacturing or site-based environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, NetSuite preferred, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to sit and use a computer most of the workday.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Willingness to be in the corporate office 3-4 times a month as needed
  • Willingness to travel to other sites as needed (approximately 8-10 times per year)
