Salary Range: $155,000 - $175,000

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Controller to lead our accounting operations and help build the financial foundation of a rapidly scaling global business. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will serve as a key business partner across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, general ledger maintenance, and month‑end close activities.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for executive leadership, investors, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage external audits, tax filings, and statutory compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Mentor, develop, and manage a team of accounting professionals, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee inventory accounting processes end‑to‑end, including tracking, valuation, reconciliation, and write‑downs across global SKUs and warehousing locations.
  • Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and product margins, providing actionable insights to support financial planning and strategic decision‑making.
  • Partner closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate landed‑cost accounting and timely reconciliation of inventory transactions.
  • Perform revenue recognition in accordance with applicable standards (ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15), covering both hardware sales and subscription‑based revenue streams.
  • Ensure accurate deferred revenue accounting, tracking, and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with product and commercial teams to assess accounting implications of new pricing models, partnerships, and revenue arrangements.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance, transparency, and scalability.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives in partnership with the CFO.
  • Assist in building scalable financial systems, reporting infrastructure, and accounting processes to support continued growth.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within NetSuite and other financial systems.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, month‑end close, and internal controls.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP; IFRS experience is a plus.
  • Experience leading audits and working directly with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
  • Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in consumer products, hardware, manufacturing, SaaS, e‑commerce, or startup environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively across departments.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment with evolving priorities.
