Job summary

Unity Search has partnered with a fast-growing Retail/Distribution company in the Dallas area to recruit a Corporate Controller who will oversee all accounting and finance functions at the corporate headquarters. You will own the monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, produce complete financial statements, manage GL, AR/AP, inventory and revenue recognition, and mentor the Assistant Controller.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate accounting and finance leadership.
• Experience with inventory in Manufacturing/Distribution/ Retail sectors is a plus.
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities for an accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Produce complete and accurate financial statements.
• Oversee GL, AR/AP, Inventory and Revenue recognition.
• Train and mentor the Assistant Controller.
• Improve accounting processes and workflows.
• Interact with attorneys, CPAs, banks, and consultants as the primary contact.

Unity Search has partnered with a fast-growing Retail/Distribution company in the Central Dallas area in its search for a Corporate Controller.

Reporting directly to the President and based at the corporate headquarters, this person will have ultimate responsibility for all accounting and finance functions of the company including but not limited to:

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
• Produce complete and accurate financial statements
• Oversee all day to day accounting functions including: General ledger, AR/AP, Inventory and Revenue recognition
• Train and mentor an experienced Assistant Controller who will be this person’s support
• Update and continually improve accounting processes and workflows
• Serve as the primary point of contact for interactions with attorneys, CPAs, banks, and consultants
• For anticipated acquisitions of the company, direct the due diligence process with consultants and assist with the integration of acquired companies
• Various special projects for the President

The ideal candidate for this role would 10+ years of relevant experience with at least some exposure to working with inventory via exposure to the Manufacturing, Distribution, Consumer Products, Retail or Construction industries and good leadership skills.

Compensation for the role will vary with experience but will probably be in the $150K to $175K range + Bonus.
