Position Summary:

A fast-growing, multi-entity organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Financial Controller to lead its accounting operations and financial reporting functions. This role is ideal for a seasoned finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence and financial integrity. The Controller will collaborate closely with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and revenue recognition.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
• Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.

Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and regulatory reviews.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Oversee the annual budgeting process and monitor adherence throughout the fiscal year.
• Partner with department heads to develop forecasts and financial models that support strategic planning.

Process Improvement & Systems

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Evaluate and optimize financial systems and tools to support scalability and automation.

Leadership & Team Development

• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Provide training and development opportunities to build team capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with integrated accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial modeling.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in multi-entity or multi-location environments is a plus.
