The HT Group is partnering with one of our Austin-based Retail Services clients in the search for an experienced Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting for an immediate opportunity.
Direct Hire – Base salary up to $205K+ bonus/incentives – Remote (approved state list below) or Austin, TX
Approved states: (AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, LA, MN, MO, MS, NC, NM, NV, OK, ON (Canada), OR, PA, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI)

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of SEC reporting and technical accounting. The role includes managing corporate accounting functions such as stock compensation and ensuring compliance with evolving accounting standards. A strong background in technical accounting and experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead preparation and timely filing of all SEC reports (10-Q, 10-K, etc.)
• Conduct technical accounting research and prepare related memorandums
• Implement new accounting standards and assess accounting for non-recurring transactions
• Manage accounting for stock compensation and equity instruments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, treasury, operations, etc.) for reporting and disclosures
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors on accounting and reporting matters
• Support special projects and initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in SEC reporting and technical accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred)
• CPA required; Big Four experience strongly preferred
