TRUMARK CREDIT UNION in Fort Washington, PA, seeks a Corporate Communications Director to lead its integrated communications function across internal, external, executive, and member communications. This highly visible role shapes Trumark’s narrative, strengthens reputation, and builds trust and engagement with key audiences.

As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will drive media relations, executive messaging, and high-impact initiatives while coordinating with Marketing and Events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, business, or a related field.
• Master's degree in communications, business, or a related field is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive corporate communications or public relations experience.
• 5+ years leading an enterprise-wide communications function.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated corporate communications strategy aligned with enterprise priorities and the Trumark brand.
• Establish messaging frameworks, editorial standards, and governance for a consistent voice across channels.
• Manage media relations and build reporter relationships to secure earned media coverage.
• Serve as the primary media contact and organizational spokesperson.
• Prepare executives for media interviews and external engagements with briefings and talking points.
• Advise the CEO on leadership communications and executive visibility.
• Develop internal communications translating strategy into messages for employees.

What You'll Do

The Corporate Communications Director leads Trumark’s integrated communications function across internal, external, executive, and member operational communications. This is a highly visible role that combines strategic leadership with hands‑on execution to shape Trumark’s narrative, strengthen its reputation, and build trust and engagement across key audiences.

As a trusted communications advisor to senior leadership, you will help define how Trumark tells its story while personally driving communications, media relations, executive messaging, and other high‑impact initiatives.

You will:

• Develop and execute an integrated corporate communications strategy aligned with enterprise priorities and the Trumark brand.
• Establish messaging frameworks, editorial standards, and communications governance to create a consistent voice across channels and audiences.
• Manage media relations, including building reporter relationships, developing and pitching stories, responding to inquiries, and securing earned media coverage.
• Serve as Trumark’s primary media contact and organizational spokesperson.
• Prepare executives for media interviews and external engagements through briefings, talking points, messaging, and interview preparation.
• Advise the CEO and executive team on leadership communications, thought leadership, speaking opportunities, and executive visibility.
• Develop internal communications that translate enterprise strategy and organizational priorities into clear, meaningful messages for employees.
• Guide member operational communications to promote clarity, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Trumark's brand.
• Develop and execute change communications for enterprise initiatives, product launches, and organizational changes.
• Direct crisis and issues communications planning and response, providing communications guidance during sensitive or high‑visibility situations.
• Manage editorial strategy, content standards, and executive voice across corporate communications.
• Partner with Marketing and Branded Events to connect public relations, content, executive communications, campaigns, product launches, and community events.
• Establish communications performance measures and evaluate engagement, sentiment, earned media, reach, and reputation data.
• Manage the communications editorial calendar, budget, governance model, and external vendor relationships.
• Ensure communications align with organizational policies, regulatory expectations, and brand standards.

What You Bring To The Table

Education

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, business, or a related field.
• Master's degree in communications, business, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

• 10 or more years of progressive corporate communications or public relations experience across internal, external, and executive communications.
• 5 or more years of experience leading an enterprise‑wide communications function.
• Hands‑on media relations experience, including established reporter and journalist relationships and demonstrated success securing earned media coverage.
• Experience supporting CEO and senior executive communications.
• Experience in financial services, banking, credit unions, or another regulated industry is preferred.
• Greater Philadelphia and/or financial services media relationships are preferred.
• Experience building or transforming an in‑house communications function is preferred.
• Experience managing crisis and issues communications for a consumer‑facing organization is preferred.

• Strong media relations skills with the ability to develop compelling stories, pitch media, and build productive reporter relationships.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to develop clear and compelling messaging for a variety of audiences.
