A full-service US law firm with a long-established New Jersey base and a growing New York presence is looking for a mid-level Corporate Associate to join its Business, Commercial and Corporate Transactions group. It's a chance to run deals with real responsibility in a team where partners know who did the work.

The role

You'll handle a broad corporate practice for privately held businesses, family-owned companies, private equity sponsors and middle-market corporates. Expect:

• Mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, including stock and asset purchases
• Private equity and venture investments
• Commercial contracts, joint ventures and corporate restructurings
• General corporate counselling, governance and entity formation
• Managing due diligence, drafting transaction documents and leading closings
• You'll deal directly with clients and senior lawyers, and junior associates and paralegals will look to you for supervision and mentoring.

What you'll bring

• JD from an accredited US law school, with 5-7 years of corporate transactional experience
• Admission to the New Jersey and/or New York Bar
• A solid M&A and general corporate background, ideally gained at a law firm
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills, plus good judgement in deal settings
• The ability to manage several matters at once and stay commercially minded

- Base salary of $210,000-$225,000 (Newark) or $225,000-$245,000 (New York), depending on experience
