Trueline's client, a growing private real estate lending and alternative investment firm, is seeking a Corporate and Real Estate Paralegal to join its legal team in West Los Angeles. This newly created role offers the chance to work directly with the company's General Counsel, take ownership of a broad mix of corporate and transactional work, and help shape an evolving in-house legal function while maintaining a genuinely reasonable work-life balance.
What You'll Do as the Corporate and Real Estate Paralegal:
- Manage legal entities throughout their lifecycle, including formations, dissolutions, and ongoing maintenance.
- Maintain corporate records, minute books, and other governance documentation.
- Coordinate state licensing requirements, registrations, filings, and related compliance activities.
- Support contract administration, including light review, document organization, and signature coordination.
- Assist with audits and other legal and compliance projects as needed.
- Support real estate lending transactions and learn processes specific to the company's lending business.
- Coordinate document recordings and other transaction-related requirements when needed.
- Partner closely with the General Counsel on a wide range of legal, corporate, and operational matters.
- Research unfamiliar issues, ask thoughtful questions, and help develop practical solutions as the legal function continues to grow.
- Take on greater responsibility over time and contribute ideas for improving processes and legal operations.
Must-Haves as the Corporate and Real Estate Paralegal:
- 2-5 years of relevant paralegal or comparable legal experience.
- Experience supporting a corporate transactional and/or real estate legal practice, either in-house or at a law firm.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing detail-intensive corporate records, documents, deadlines, and processes.
- Ability to work independently and resourcefully in an environment where every process may not already have a playbook.
- Curiosity and confidence asking questions when encountering unfamiliar work.
- Strong communication skills and sound judgment.
- A flexible, open-minded approach and willingness to learn new areas of law and business.
- Ability to work onsite in West Los Angeles four days per week during the initial ramp-up period.
Nice-to-Haves as the Corporate and Real Estate Paralegal:
- Experience with corporate entity management and governance.
- Experience supporting funds, asset management, or private investment businesses.
- Familiarity with state licensing or regulatory filings.
