Job summary

Affinity Gaming, LLC. is seeking a qualified accounting professional in Las Vegas to manage GAAP-based financial reporting and monthly close processes.

You will mentor staff on complex transactions, coordinate with auditors, and drive process improvements aligned with the finance transformation roadmap. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred) and a track record of ensuring compliance with gaming regulations.

  • CPA preferred for leadership in external reporting and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Performs quarterly Bank Compliance activities timely and accurately.
  • Advises staff on handling non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Develops and implements new procedures to enhance department workflow.
  • Supports finance transformation roadmap with special projects and process improvements.
  • Provides GAAP guidance and supports multiple entities; may involve acquisitions/dispositions.
  • Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements preparation.
  • Prepares daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Reviews reports on overall company performance and ensures compliance with standards and gaming regulations.
  • Resolves accounting discrepancies and coordinates implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Assists with coordinating financial audits and recommendations for improvements.
  • Engages in monthly close process including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Interacts with auditors and prepares MD&A/Fluctuation analysis.

Job description

  • Ensures quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Develops and implements new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Supports the finance transformation roadmap with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Provides technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all company entities. At times, this may include involvement in due diligence and other activities surrounding acquisitions/dispositions.
  • Assists with preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Prepares daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Reviews reports relating to overall performance of the company.
  • Ensures compliance with company standards and gaming regulations.
  • Resolves accounting discrepancies.
  • Assists in coordinating the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Assists in coordinating financial audits and provides recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Assists in establishing short and long term departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating improvements.
  • Interacts with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
  • Prepares quarterly and annual MD&A/Fluctuation analysis.
  • Responsible for the completion of annual GAAP checklists, technical accounting memos and providing accounting guidance related to non-routine transactions and events.
  • Responsible for ongoing compliance and reporting of ASC842.
  • Participates in monthly close process, which includes the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Review property level journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Other related duties assigned by the VP Corporate Controller and office of the CFO.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • CPA Preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess and be able to maintain the applicable regional Gaming card(s) and/or License(s), if any.
