In this internship, you will support the Corporate Accounting team with key financial processes including month-end close activities, account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and financial analysis. While working with subject matter experts, you will gain a strong understanding of corporate accounting practices, internal controls, and financial systems. **What You Will Do*** Support and be part of month-end close activities, including observing and assisting with journal entries, close meetings, account reconciliation, and supporting documentation preparation.* Assist with account reconciliations by comparing subledger or supporting schedule balances to the general ledger and researching differences.* Support variance analysis by reviewing month-over-month account changes, researching significant activity,and preparing draft explanations for review.* Assist with intercompany accounting, including comparing intercompany balances between entities and researching differences.* Assist with fixed asset accounting activities, including documentation supporting additions and depreciation.* Assist with prepaid accounting by updating supporting schedules and refreshing amortization calculations using established templates.* Assist with preparing and reviewing journal-entry support and learn expectations for well-documented accounting entries.* Review financial statements and help identify opportunities to improve formatting, consistency, readability, and presentation.* Help create and improve accounting process documentation, including concise reference materials covering materials for key Corporate Accounting processes.* Participate in project work that requires gathering source information, developing analyses or presentations, incorporating review feedback, and communicating progress to stakeholders.* Develop an understanding of Panduit's business and how accounting and financial reporting support business decision-making.**What You Will Bring*** At least a sophomore in a 4-year degree program* Business, Accounting, or Finance major* Excel experience is a plus* Basic understanding of accounting concepts* Good communication skills (both written and verbal)* Willingness to ask questions* Be a team player and have a strong desire to contribute and learn **Panduit Intern Program**Our program consists of not only working with your functional area but getting to know the entire summer cohort of interns across Panduit.
