The Senior Accountant will assist in building a standardized, high-quality accounting and reporting process within the Finance function by bringing an analytical mindset and technical expertise to the team. Additionally, this role will champion digital enablement across the team by embedding advanced technology, automation, and AI driven solutions into daily workflows. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for identifying opportunities to streamline processes via developing an end-to-end understanding of specific accounting processes, owning the preparation and/or first level review of their financial areas.
Own assigned month-end close activities for commercial programs, operations‑related accounting areas, and related accruals, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, validating supporting schedules, and resolving reconciling items. Execute the accounting and analysis of significant sales programs, commercial arrangements, and related business activities, including calculating accruals, evaluating current program terms, and monitoring changes that could affect financial results. Partner with Commercial Finance, Global Supply Chain, FP&A, and other business stakeholders to understand customer, distributor, sales‑program, inventory, and forecast activity and translate that information into accurate and supportable accounting conclusions. Support the analysis of actual commercial and operations‑related costs against forecast, prior periods, and underlying business activity, investigate significant or unusual variances, and communicate the primary business and accounting drivers. Maintain complete, accurate, and audit‑ready support for assigned accounting areas for journal entries and account reconciliations, including rationale and business purpose for each topical area, program terms, contracts, calculation methodologies, underlying business data completeness and accuracy, approvals, and changes in estimates. Partner with Global Supply Chain and Financial Planning & Analysis on assigned areas, including inventory variance analysis, and forecasting compilation and review. Perform control reviews for assigned processes, identify accounting or documentation gaps, implement corrective actions, and help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies. Improve and document end‑to‑end accounting processes, including updating policies, standard operating procedures, control documentation, and ownership requirements. Use Oracle Fusion, FCCS, ARCS, Smart View, Excel, automation, and AI‑assisted analytical tools to reduce manual work, strengthen controls, and improve the quality and timeliness of commercial accounting analysis. Review work prepared by junior and mid‑level analysts, as assigned. Provide clear feedback, assist with issue resolution, and share accounting, controls, and systems best practices. Support internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules and documentation, responding to questions, and helping resolve audit observations related to assigned areas.
