Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking a Corporate Accountant to prepare financial reports and track assets, liabilities, and profits. This on-site role at our Ladera Ranch, CA headquarters requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration and 1–3 years of accounting experience.

Responsibilities include general accounting, monthly consolidation, journal entries, reconciliations, internal/external reporting, and treasury support, with adherence to GAAP and timely analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.
• Minimum 1 - 3 years’ experience in Public Accounting and/or private company accounting experience
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Be detailed oriented while multi-tasking in a fast-paced company
• Must be hands-on and work effectively in a demanding environment
• Be able to adapt quickly to change

Responsibilities

• Performs general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
• Assists with preparing monthly financial statement consolidation and quarterly financial statement packages for senior management.
• Coordinates and reviews monthly reporting from property accountants.
• Produces journal entries, account reconciliations, and other general accounting duties.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Prepares supplemental financial schedules.
• Assists in the preparation of internal reports for variance analysis.
• Assists with external financial statement audits.
• Assists with Treasury management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
