Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking a Corporate Accountant to prepare financial reports, consolidate statements, and manage general ledger activities. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or private company settings.

The position is 100% on-site at our Ladera Ranch, CA headquarters, with health and life insurance options, ample paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with company matching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.
• 1–3 years’ experience in public accounting or private company accounting.
• Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on and adaptable to change.

Responsibilities

• Performs general accounting and related duties in the accounting department.
• Prepares monthly and quarterly financial statements and consolidation packages.
• Coordinates monthly reporting from property accountants.
• Produces journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Prepares supplemental financial schedules.
• Assists with internal variance analysis and external audits.
• Supports treasury management.
