Job summary

The Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our growing accounting team in Purcellville, VA. The ideal candidate will bring strong GAAP knowledge and hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.

You will manage general ledger activities, prepare financial statements, and collaborate across departments to ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting.
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience required.
• Experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Manage general ledger accounting activities and ensure accurate financial records.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate cash reporting.
• Support intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and prepaid expenses.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Support annual audits and respond to requests for financial documentation.
• Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
