Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant in Washington, DC to support core GL accounting and financial reporting. This role offers broad exposure to month-end close, fixed assets, audits, lease accounting, and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet analyses and reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review lease and sublease schedules across locations.
• Analyze and reconcile bank statements and GL accounts.
• Assist with financial surveys and government reporting requests.
• Support internal and external audits with schedules and documentation.
• Review fixed asset additions/disposals and related gains/losses.
• Collaborate on special projects and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process journal entries to ensure accuracy.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Review lease and sublease schedules across multiple offices.
• Analyze bank statements and general ledger accounts; resolve discrepancies.
• Compile firm data for financial surveys and government reporting.
• Support audits with schedules and documentation.
• Review fixed asset additions/disposals and accounting treatment.
• Partner with team on special projects and ad hoc reporting.
• Maintain compliance with policies and internal controls.
