Job summary

BGS Consulting in Reston, VA seeks a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant with about three years of experience to grow into a senior-level contributor. You will support monthly close, maintain GAAP compliance, and collaborate with FP&A, Tax, and Treasury to deliver accurate financial reporting.

CPA preferred; you will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis, participate in audits, and help enhance controls and process improvements across the close cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• Active CPA license or pursuing CPA license.
• 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement analyses, explain variances.
• Understand processes, risks, and internal controls; apply GAAP guidance.
• Prepare schedules for financial statements and management reporting.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and operations to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Assist with audits and SOX compliance; respond to inquiries.
