Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Coronary Care Unit at St. Anne Hospital. The role involves basic patient care, vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include accurate documentation, effective communication with the care team, and patient empowerment. Candidates with nursing aide training and current STNA/CNA credentials are encouraged to apply; EPIC EHR training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed nursing aide training program or STNA state-tested nurse aide (required).
• One of the following: CNA certification or nursing program with clinical nursing course/rotation (required).
• Experience in acute care, home health, or long-term care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care, including comfort, vital signs, hygiene and mobility assistance.
• Serve as a liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in the charting system.
• Participate in hand-off reports and communicate departmental needs on arrival and departure.
• Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilize patients using safe transfer techniques and encourage independence.
