Job summary

Cargill is hiring for a full-time day-shift position in our Food Enterprise. You will interact with truck drivers, monitor bin conditions, and support safety and sanitation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include data entry, unloading, and basic IT troubleshooting, with opportunities to grow in a large, global food company. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbal and written.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
  • Overtime and varied shift work possible.

Responsibilities

  • Interact daily with inbound truck drivers and act as liaison to merchants with accurate data entry.
  • Monitor bin temperatures and quality, coordinating with operations staff.
  • Work at elevations and handle safety policies to maintain sanitary areas.
  • Assist with unloading corn trucks and generate truck scale tickets.
  • Troubleshoot minor computer problems and support area maintenance.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Follow safety, food safety, and smoking policies; report concerns.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Daily interaction with truck drivers of inbound corn trucks, serve as liaison between truck drivers and merchants involving fast paced accurate keyboard data entry.
  • Bin Management: Daily monitoring of bins for temperature and quality. Direct interaction with personnel in operations to exchange information.
  • Ability to work in heights (160 ft or above)
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as required, including, but not limited to, operator-based maintenance, cleaning of area and equipment, environmental equipment monitoring, and troubleshoot minor computer problems
  • Monitor the unloading of corn trucks
  • Generation of truck scale tickets, troubleshoot minor computer problems
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety and food safety policies, ensure we maintain a sanitary work area including control room, dump bay and restroom, communicate expectations to drivers regarding no smoking and safety practices necessary for unloading - report concerns as appropriate
  • Identify and troubleshoot potential problems with elevator systems
  • Safely coordinate daily and emergency maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (150 feet and above)
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Working knowledge of inventory systems
  • Experience in production or plant environment
  • Ability to operate and read instruments
