Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health's Lorain Hospital is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant for an as-needed PRN role. You will register and accession orders, prep specimens, perform waived and limited moderately complex testing, and support technologists with instrument maintenance and quality control. Required: high school diploma or GED; associates in biology or chemistry preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates degree in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for analysis and registers/accessions orders.
• Performs waived and limited moderately complex testing per CLIA.
• Supports technologists with instrument maintenance and QC.
• Recognizes malfunctions and communicates issues promptly.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and safety checks.
• Registers, triages, and processes specimens for testing.
