Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) in Newark, OH is seeking a Medical Technologist/MLS capable of performing in a high-complexity laboratory. The role involves daily results review, instrument troubleshooting, QC management, and data backup across multiple instruments and software platforms.

Required are an ASCP-certified MT/MLS (or MT(HEW)) with a bachelor’s degree, 4+ years in a high-complexity lab, and 3–5 years of progressive responsibility.

Qualifications

• MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT(HEW) with a baccalaureate degree.
• Four years of training/experience in a high complexity laboratory.
• Three to five years of progressive responsibility experience.
• Active participation in the ASCP certification maintenance program.
• LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC and may require annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Daily results review.
• Instrument troubleshooting as needed.
• Manage proficiency testing.
• QC exception reports.
• Review QC and make adjustments.
• Supply inventory management.
• Update staff on current events.
• Weekly report to Laboratory Director.
• Attend Supervisor Meetings biweekly.
• Stay current with professional journals.
• Journal article reading.
• Pathologist quality check review.
• Instrument Maintenance log review.
• ISO document review and update as needed.
• Turn-around time statistics.
• Corrected report summary.
• Attend Laboratory meetings.
• Perform data backups on required instruments and software.
