Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems in Newark, OH is seeking a certified Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform high-complexity testing, review results, and troubleshoot instruments. You will participate in proficiency testing, QC, documentation, and mandatory ongoing education in a collaborative hospital laboratory setting.

The role requires ASCP certification maintenance, a Baccalaureate degree, and 4+ years of relevant experience, with 3–5 years of progressive responsibility.

Qualifications

• Certified MT or MLS (ASCP) or MT(HEW), Technologist in a specific area with a baccalaureate degree.
• Minimum of four years training/experience in a high complexity laboratory.
• Three to five years of progressive responsibility experience.
• Current participation in the ASCP certification maintenance program as required.
• LMH S accreditation by DNV and TJC may require annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Daily results review
• Instrument troubleshooting - as needed.
• Manage proficiency testing
• QC exception reports
• Review QC and make adjustments
• Supply Inventory management
• Update staff on current events
• Weekly report to Laboratory Director
• Attend Supervisor Meetings (biweekly)
• Stay current with professional journals
• Journal article reading
• Pathologist quality check review
• Instrument Maintenance log review
• ISO document review and update, as needed
• Turn-away time statistics
• Corrected report summary
• Attend Laboratory meeting
• Perform Data Back-up’s on required instruments and software
