The role requires a Bachelor's in medical technology or related field, applicable license, and certification requirements. Day shift responsibilities include handling specimens and ensuring regulatory compliance in a state-of-the-art core laboratory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or a related chemical/physical/ biological science.
• Current license in the state of practice (if applicable).
• ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification as MLS/MT, or designated discipline certification for an Academic Medical Center facility. Certification Maintenance Program may apply for ASCP certs after 2004.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized laboratory testing independently and reports results within established timeframes.
• Monitors quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting to maintain accuracy and precision.
• Adheres to regulatory guidelines and accreditation standards for laboratories; follows safety policies and proficiency testing protocols.
• Maintains patient data confidentiality and accurate data entry; supports data retrieval for analysis.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures as appropriate and ensures proper specimen handling.
