Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist for the Core Lab on the Evening Shift. You will receive and prepare specimens, perform routine and specialized tests, and ensure quality control and calibration of lab instruments.

Phlebotomy may be required; confidentiality and regulatory compliance are essential. Required: Bachelor's in medical technology or related field, CLS Generalist license or within 180 days, and certification within 90 days (ASCP/AMT/AAB).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science.
• Current CLS/Medical Laboratory Scientist license or within 180 days of hire.
• ASCP/AMT/AAB generalist certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized lab testing within established timeframes.
• Maintain and analyze quality control; perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Calibrate, monitor, and ensure accuracy of analytical equipment.
• Perform phlebotomy as appropriate; protect patient confidentiality and data integrity.
