Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist II/III/IV for the Core Laboratory on a per diem basis. The role includes line responsibility for clinical analyses, instrument maintenance, quality control adherence, and handling high-complexity coagulation/chemistry tests.

Qualified candidates must have NYS licensure or eligibility, with 3–5 years of relevant experience for the SL-2 level.

Qualifications

NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility, including provisional/limited permit eligibility with demonstrated relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Line responsibility for the performance of clinical analysis in the Department of Laboratories.
Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting according to established protocols.
Adhere to quality control policies and procedures.
Proficient in computer protocols as assigned.
Interact professionally with nursing staff, physicians, and hospital staff.
Perform high complexity coagulation/chemistry testing using manual and automated methods.
Assist in implementing and validating new procedures.
Engage in continuing education and attend conferences as possible.
Work every other weekend; pass days and holidays as assigned.
