Job summary

AKG North America is seeking a Core Assembler for 1st shift (6AM-2PM, M-F) to assemble cores following standard AKG procedures. You will read work orders, verify parts, and ensure close tolerances while maintaining quality and safety in a clean manufacturing setting.

The role requires basic math, ability to use measuring tools, and a strong eye for detail. You will contribute to meeting quotas, document progress, and work with a supportive team in Mitchell, SD.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment; previous assembler preferred.
• Ability to use basic computer programs.
• Ability to read and understand detailed work order instructions and blueprints.
• Must have basic math skills and understand how to use measuring tools.
• Must have strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand detailed work order instructions.
• Verify correct parts are pulled prior to assembly.
• Sort defective and usable parts; adjust slightly defective parts.
• Adjust core assembly machine as needed.
• Assemble cores and fit parts to close tolerances per AKG standards.
• Bind completed cores and perform quality checks.
• Document and label completed and incomplete cores.
• Meet production quotas provided by Lead or Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Report any issues to the Supervisor or appropriate personnel.
• Follow all policies and procedures under AKG’s EMS.
• Regular physical attendance is required.
