Job summary

Associated Builders and Contractors is seeking a Coordinator for Workforce Development & Safety to oversee education systems, apprenticeship administration, program delivery, and workforce analytics. Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience supporting health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs, construction safety initiatives, risk management, or related programs.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects, initiatives, or programs while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience collecting, analyzing or reporting program or operational data.
• Ability to travel domestically, including overnight travel by air or automobile, as required.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, or extended hours, as needed.

Job description

The Coordinator, Workforce Development & Safety serves as ABC National's coordinator for workforce education systems, apprenticeship administration, program delivery, workforce analytics, safety, & human health initiatives. This position ensures the successful implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of programs while providing ABC National staff with the tools, resources and operational support necessary to achieve consistent, measurable outcomes across the Association.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Operations

• Collect, analyze, and report program performance data to support program evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate sponsorship fulfillment activities to ensure contractual obligations are met and sponsor benefits are delivered effectively.
• Provide operational support to workforce committees, advisory groups and task forces by coordinating meetings, developing agendas, preparing reports and monitoring action items.
• Coordinate the operations of the National Student Chapter Network and Construction Management Competition, including committee support, sponsor coordination, communications and event logistics.

Workforce Analytics & Technology

• Develop, maintain, and update workforce dashboards, scorecards, and performance metrics to support program evaluation and organizational reporting.
• Collect, validate and analyze workforce development data from chapters and national initiatives to support informed decision‑making and strategic planning.
• Prepare executive reports, presentations and performance summaries that communicate workforce trends, program outcomes and key performance indicators to leadership.
• Analyze workforce data and benchmarking information and provide recommendations that support program planning and continuous improvement.
• Perform weekly data analysis on workforce and H&S related data.

Workforce Resources & Content

• Develop, maintain and regularly update workforce toolkits, implementation guides, templates and other resources that support chapter workforce initiatives.
• Maintain a comprehensive library of workforce resources, training materials and digital content to support chapters, members and workforce professionals.

Safety & Total Human Health

• Verify records and data by maintaining spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
• Coordinate logistics with chapters for safety presentations, training programs and speaking engagements.
• Maintain records for chapter safety initiatives, including VitalCog trainers and Mental Health Champions.
• Promote emphasis months, weeks, or days such as Construction Safety Week, Suicide Prevention Month, Careers in Construction Week, etc.
• Assist in managing STEP application process from a data perspective and assist members and chapters where needed.
• Serve as the POC for VitalCog and schedule classes and trainers.
• Serve as staff liaison to the National Safety and Workforce Development Committee and assigned subcommittees.
• Coordinate meeting logistics, agendas, minutes, committee rosters and follow‑up action items.
• Support committee initiatives through effective communication and project coordination.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the strategic priorities of the Association.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience supporting health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs, construction safety initiatives, risk management, or related programs.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects, initiatives, or programs while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience collecting, analyzing or reporting program or operational data.
• Ability to travel domestically, including overnight travel by air or automobile, as required.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, or extended hours, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification such as CHST, CSP, ASP, OHST, STSC, or a similar safety credential.
• Experience working for a construction industry organization, trade association, nonprofit, or member‑based organization.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety best practices, and health and safety management systems.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects, committees, programs or events while managing competing priorities and deadlines.

Work Location & Compensation

This position is based at ABC National's corporate office in Washington, DC, and requires regular in‑person work. ABC offers a flexible work arrangement which may include remote work, subject to business needs and supervisor approval.

The hiring salary range for this position is determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience and alignment with the position requirements. The posted salary range reflects compensation based on the Washington, DC metropolitan area and may be adjusted depending on the finalist’s geographic location.
