Job summary

The University of Arizona is seeking a Programs Coordinator for Veterans Education & Transition Services (VETS). The role will supervise VA Work Study students, oversee VETS social media, and coordinate unit activities and external communications.

Responsibilities include event planning, policy evaluation, and collaboration with partners to expand program impact. A strong focus on organization and adherence to university procedures is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience with program management and coordinating events is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all planning and logistics for VETS events, including budgets and vendor relations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to expand program reach and impact.
  • Evaluate policies to identify biases and barriers and improve processes.
  • Supervise and train VA Work Study students and manage time sheets and contracts.
  • Maintain unit lists, directories, and calendars; assist with reporting and compliance.

Job description

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of Veterans Education & Transition Services (VETS) program. This includes supervising and training the VA Work Study program students, oversight of VETS social media platforms and accounts, and all other coordination functions of the unit to include correspondence with internal and external agencies. The position reports to the Director of VETS.

Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinationof VETS (Veterans Education & Transition Services) Center Program
  • Participate inall planning and logistics for VETS events including managing budgets andworking with vendors.
  • Collaboratewith internal and external partners to expand program reach and impact.
  • Evaluatepolicies and practices to identify and address potential biases and barriers.
ProgramManagement
  • Maintain unitlistservs, phone contacts, directories, shared drives, mailboxes, officesupplies and equipment, student position postings etc.
  • Assist theDirector with annual SSF funding and reporting.
  • Serve as a Purchase Card holder ensuring proper P-Card usage and reporting, including collecting/uploading receipts, making departmental orders.
  • Manage department calendar.
VA Work StudyProgram Site Supervisor
  • Serve assupervisor for approximately 30 VA Work Study students including managingcontracts and time sheets for work studies.
  • Responsible fornew hire training and directing daily tasks.
  • Serve as SiteSupervisor for Department of Veterans Affairs Work Study Program within VETS.
  • Submitcontracts and hours sheets for all work studies.
  • Mitigate payissues, if they arise.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor'sdegree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional levelexperience required.
  • Minimum of 3years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education andwork experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Program management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft office, marketing, budgeting and planning of larger scale events.
  • Experience working with military connected students and agencies.
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs: specifically, policies and procedures for work site supervisor and VA Benefits.
