Job summary

Northside Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to join the Surgical Services team. You will coordinate day-to-day activities with 24-hour accountability for the Sterile Processing department and work alongside the manager to lead supervisors and staff in providing sterile instrumentation and supplies.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, prioritization, and knowledge of instrument sterilization techniques.

Qualifications

• 5+ years sterile processing experience or 3 years in OR as Surgical Technologist or OR RN.
• Ability to set priorities and make supervisory decisions; strong problem-solving skills.
• 1+ year supervisory experience in sterile processing.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the day- to - day activities with twenty-four (24) hour accountability for the Sterile Processing department. Works independently alongside the manager to lead the supervisors and staff in providing Surgical Services and numerous other areas within the organization with sterile instrumentation and supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED:1. High School diploma or equivalent. 2. Five (5) years sterile processing or related field experience with demonstrated knowledge of instrument sterilization techniques, Sterile Processing policies and procedures, purchasing activities, and surgical procedures. Or Three (3) years experience as Surgical Technologist or Registered Nurse operating room experience. 3. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills. 4. One (1) year or more Sterile Processing or related field supervisory experience. PREFERRED:1. Two (2) year or greater college degree 2. National certification in specialty.
