Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. in Georgia seeks a Sterile Processing Supervisor to coordinate day-to-day operations and lead staff across departments requiring sterile instrumentation and supplies.

The role demands a high school diploma, 5 years in sterile processing (or 3 years as Surgical Tech/OR RN), plus 1+ year supervisory experience. Preferred: 2-year degree and national certification. Work hours: 6:30AM - 3:00PM.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years sterile processing or related field experience with instrument sterilization knowledge, policies, purchasing, and surgical procedures.
• One (1) year or more supervisory experience.
• Two (2) year or greater college degree preferred; national certification in specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates day-to-day activities with 24-hour accountability for Sterile Processing.
• Works with manager to lead supervisors and staff in providing sterile instrumentation and supplies.
• Supports Surgical Services and other areas requiring sterile processing.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the day- to - day activities with twenty-four (24) hour accountability for the Sterile Processing department. Works independently alongside the manager to lead the supervisors and staff in providing Surgical Services and numerous other areas within the organization with sterile instrumentation and supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED:1. High School diploma or equivalent. 2. Five (5) years sterile processing or related field experience with demonstrated knowledge of instrument sterilization techniques, Sterile Processing policies and procedures, purchasing activities, and surgical procedures. Or Three (3) years experience as Surgical Technologist or Registered Nurse operating room experience. 3. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills. 4. One (1) year or more Sterile Processing or related field supervisory experience. PREFERRED:1. Two (2) year or greater college degree 2. National certification in specialty.
